Seven Deadly Sins - Lust

 Seven Deadly Sins - Lust

Source: Jupiter Images

MEANING: - Lust is a strong passion or longing, especially for sexual desires.

Lust (fornication) — Unlawful sexual desire, such as desiring sex with a person outside marriage. (Dante's definition was "excessive love of others," and this reduced the love that a person could give God).

Lust is the uncontrolled desire for money or power. Henry Edward Manning, a 19th century Cardinal, said that lust makes you “a slave of the devil.” So, not great.

THEIR PUNISHMENT: -

Unless you like being roasted by fire and brimstone. To each their own.

Lustful people--those guilty of committing the deadly sin of lust--will be punished in hell by being smothered in fire and brimstone. There doesn't appear to be much connection between this and the sin itself, unless one assumes that the lustful spent their time being "smothered" with physical pleasure and must now endure being smothered by physical torment.
